i did it the last two weeks in a row on both cars, just to get a couple coats on for summer. i would like to try and clay bar and wax each of them once a month
fuhhh so much work my arms get hella tired no joke |
why would you clay bar it that much with fresh wax every month?
The simplest way of knowing if it needs claying is, after you wash and dry it, put your hand in a zip-loc bag.* Now, lightly run the bag over the surface of the car. If you feel what seems to be little bits of grit, you need to clay it. The hood, roof and trunk will be the areas that may show the need for claying the most as they are the flat surfaces of the car and the contaminants will have an easier time of "sticking" there. Should you not feel those bits of grit, you should *be able to get by without claying....at least that time. |
Ok.
Just a word of advise, and on fresh paint I personally would not do it and wait at least a month to wax it.
car was painted in august
clay bar no so crazy about that, just trying to keep the sun off the paint |
It's been that long already, damn time flies.
What clear was used on your hatch? |
yea seriously... honestly not sure, idk what he used material wise
Can I ask how many dollars you spent?
Wish I knew a thing or two about all this wax/detailing stuff.... Anyhow, more pics at the carwash!
true i dont use the brushes at the diy carwashes they scratch the shit out of your paint
honestly two different people did work and both friends so im not sure who got what, one did body and the other paint, but my price wouldnt be the same for everyone else...
i hand was at the washes for sure, i use shamy (sp) to dry, not the shame wows, those dont even work btw, maybe smoot will post his shame wow commercial polish = buff? idk how to use one of those but i hear you can mess up paint if you dont use em right? |
X2 more pics of clean ass cars... Literally!
not necessarily, ive ben hand polishing my car for the longest now but, using an orbital buffer makes waxing/polishing so much easier. its alot easier to use then you think, as long as it spins at a decent speed and at like a grinder type speed, everything should be fine.
