New Civic Type-R - In Ohio?

cbaracing 01-21-2015 12:08 PM

there are 7 Honda manufacturing plants in ohio so it makes sense they would test it there :autored:

rudsone 01-21-2015 12:28 PM

Still can't afford one lol

Atomic-Orange-Turbo-Sloth 01-21-2015 02:21 PM

With rumors of the Focus RS now confirmed to have AWD and 325-350HP it better not be within sneezing distance of that. Id expect if they sold it stateside to be in the 28-34k range which is a fairly safe area, if its higher it will be going into the STI and (probably) Focus RS turf.

Broskiballa 01-21-2015 05:50 PM

interesting...

dudeinpinkfit 01-21-2015 07:39 PM

As soon as I hear they going to be released in the US I'll be preordering. We will trade in the wife's car for it. She already said it's ok. But I will not hold my breath.

beil93 01-21-2015 09:11 PM

Hmm I actually saw that post lol. I just seen two new pictures of that car rolling but forgot to save the pictures to show you guys. I'll see if I can find them again

Koopa Troopa 01-21-2015 09:54 PM

Honda of America won't let the CTR come to America. Closest thing they'll give you guys is some half assed version of the engine put in a coupe with so much crap on it that it weighs 350 pounds more than the Civic Type R.

Oh, but they'll go ahead and call it the Civic Type R so that dealerships can toss a huge mark up on the car.

when they slapped mugen si on the 2008 si they added about 5-7k on the price tag i think. i wonder how much they'll add to the price tag if they slap some catchy name and parts on it like the 08 mugen si

Atomic-Orange-Turbo-Sloth 01-26-2015 07:14 AM

Mugen SI just got cosmetics etc correct? Imagine in the SI remains N/A and the SI/R or whatever they want to call it gets a turbo motor and better suspension ETC. If they can get 5-7k for just some stickers and wheels, what can they get for actual PERFORMANCE gains.

91integrs 02-02-2015 09:01 PM

The Mugen si had the bodykit, wing, wheels, shift knob and I think the suspension was updated.

It would be interesting if the type r made it over here,. I would like to see how it would compete against the golf r, the sti, and the Focus RS ( if that's comer over here ).

Chuck Chainz 02-02-2015 09:25 PM

Damn you Matthew Perry!

IS-Frank 02-07-2015 10:55 AM

Meh haven't really like the body styles of the civic since 2000 but it would be interesting to see this coming to the us with the announcement mentioned of the focus rs coming to the states like atomic orange said above....

USDM_Boobies 02-07-2015 06:46 PM

rebaged underpowered overpriced, usa always gets the handmedowns

Chuck Chainz 02-07-2015 07:00 PM

Atomic-Orange-Turbo-Sloth 02-12-2015 08:28 AM

Road and Track confirming it will not come stateside at all. So stupid they can build the engine here, test the car here, but not sell it here.

Imagine is BMW didnt sell their German built, nurburgring tested cars in Germany?

Lol FWD FTW!!!!

I'll put this thing on track the first chance I can. Everyone can watch me get this thing sideways in corners. I'll even give ride alongs.

It better come to the US. Everything I read says still unconfirmed.

Mazda Speed 3 as a comparison? LOL Those heavy boats weren't meant to be compared to anything other than in a straight line lol

dudeinpinkfit 02-14-2015 02:42 PM

Kay said the only thing she would trade in the fa5 in for is this.... otherwise we're keeping the civic.

die in a dick fire noob 02-14-2015 04:08 PM

this won't be sold here i have no hope for honda

Koopa Troopa 02-15-2015 12:19 AM

Nah, but they're pretty nimble for such a pig. My buddy has a first gen 'Speed 3. Amazingly, it can turn, but he's found the limits in which it can turn in stock form pretty quickly though. It's no Miata, but it can hold its own with a decent driver and some decent suspension tuning.

Which leads me to believe that the guy who posted that can't drive for shit. Speed 3 aint a Miata, it aint gonna make a shitty driver feel like he's Nigel Mansell.

Atomic-Orange-Turbo-Sloth 02-16-2015 02:56 PM

They are HORRIBLE when it comes to understeer, as a former Genpu MS3 owner, i know all about that. Quick as long as you keep her straight or dont toss it into corners.

Otherwise it gets a bit outta control. Also likes its front end alignment done about every 15k miles.

Atomic-Orange-Turbo-Sloth 03-03-2015 08:43 AM

new CTR supposidly laps the 'Ring in 7:50 setting a new FWD lap record.

dun dun dunnnnn
