New Civic owner....KIND OF!!!

So first off I wanted to introduce myself. I just picked up a 2000 Civic LX 5spd, BUT this is far from my first Honda. I am probably one of the oldest on this site, but once you are bit by the Honda bug, it is hard to leave for good!
So a little background on myself and the import world. My first Civic was a 1993 Civic SI that I bought in 1995 at a Mitsubishi dealer in Carlsbad while serving in the Marine Corps. That was my introduction into the Honda world, and arguably one of the best Civic's made. Well according to me! I did quite a bit to that SI, Iceman intake, Thermal exhaust, Sprint springs, DC headers, and one of the first released Wings West big mouth bumpers. Items you would not see on a Civic nowadays!
When I got out of the Marines in 1999, I bought a brand new 1999 Civic DX hatchback off the showroom floor in Carlsbad. I immediately took it to the local shop had it lowered once again on Sprint springs, cold air intake installed, Apex'i N1 exhaust and DC headers installed. Also I had a Nitrous 75 shot fogger system installed. I ran that setup for over a year while living in Las Vegas.
For years my Wife & I were really big into the drag scene in Las Vegas and we tried quite a few different imports, from 1991 RX7, 1990 Supra, a few 92-95 Civics. In 2007 we moved back to California and we got out of the import scene.
Hondas have always had a place in my heart and had it not been for my 1999 Civic and me being into drag racing, I would have never met my Wife and had our daughter!
So that brings me today. Last week I bought a 2000 Civic LX 5spd. It was mainly purchased for me to drive back and forth to work. For our PDR business. Paintless Dent Repair business that is. But after driving it for a week, it refreshed my love for Honda's!!!!!!
So my plan is to build a daily driver that I can SCCA SOLO race on the weekends with. I started with a new OEM front bumper, because the old one was not in good shape. Then I picked up a set of Drag 21's. Next will be suspension, headers, intake, exhaust. I am excited to be back in the game!

When I first picked her up.

After wheels were installed.

Yes I know it needs to be lowered! That should happen sometime this week.

So... Why not use the Zeals you're selling?

mykdee 02-19-2017 09:38 PM

After the bumper was replaced!

Very nice man! I love the way 4 door civics look. Especially with the 99-00 front end.

welcome to azht, and to a fellow sedan owner

skip the I/H/E and just swap it

Broskiballa 03-08-2017 12:40 PM

I would just get a header, wrap it up and thermal coat it once completed. Keep the stock intake and exhaust and stay sleeper. lol. Cheap upgrade for a slight change in power band. The intake and exhaust are just noise makers. (I mean technically they all give a little bit of gains, but not worth the $1.00/ per HP)

Chuck Chainz 03-08-2017 01:55 PM

I'd suggest a trans swap, an EX transmission will wake it up a bit.
