NirVTEC 12-09-2014 02:25 PM

Not anyone who is smart I'd say. I can't speak for the B series, but for the H series they're trash....

C.R.A.Y. 12-09-2014 02:27 PM

they are cheap for a reason

king06 12-09-2014 07:09 PM

Cant go wrong with a skunk pro1 or a stage 1-2.

LS-S DA9 12-09-2014 08:57 PM

I had bc stage 2 on my last ls. I also rebuilt it from the oil pan up. This was 5 years ago roughly and i heard about 5 months ago from the current owner wanting to know what was done to the motor as he felt it was the strongest ls hes ever driven.. and before my car they were on an untouched ls bottom with ebay turbo kit. Some people may know nate and his lil red eg si... car wasnt slow..

NirVTEC 12-10-2014 07:11 AM

x2

I'm so out of the loop on the B series, but back in the day, it was all about Skunks, Todas, JUNs. The $$$ never really made sense with the JDM stuff though. I'd buy used Skunks before anything New from Crower.

F-FWD 10yrs+ and that remains true for the H series. Guys have broken 300whp with Pro3s.

LS-S DA9 12-10-2014 12:56 PM

Oh wow

4dr_ed3 12-10-2014 01:06 PM

Damn that's crazy... Dyno sheets don't lie I guess. I'd take that overall max gain across the rpms vs max HP at redline any day. That's pretty sur surprising to me

Vtecracer 12-10-2014 03:00 PM

Been Running the Crower Cams Honda Challenge spec ( Crower Cams Part#
62402HC-2) For the last 3 years, they make about 8-10 HP on a Honda Challenge spec B20 motor. No issues, no problems.

C.R.A.Y. 12-10-2014 03:33 PM

there really is no other options on a non vtec b, maybe regrinds

michalo187 12-11-2014 01:35 PM

I once had a D17 head with crower valve springs, retainers, valves and crower cam. Had the stage 2 cam for awhile then upgraded to their stage 3 Race cam and still had zero issues. Both gave significant power gains on my turbo SOHC and Crower customer service was really good. I also had Crower Rods in the same D17. Id confidently go with a Crower product even now.

On a side note Ive personally never had any issues with skunk cams but if you look on other forums there is plenty of people claiming to have had them. Google search "junk2"

C.R.A.Y. 12-11-2014 01:44 PM

again... what do you have to compare to in that application? lol

Koopa Troopa 12-12-2014 12:10 AM

A friend of mine and I had a conversation about the "cheap" cam companies the other week. He was saying he was planning on using some Blox cams in his EK9, and I asked him "Why use the cheap cams and not some Todas?" Well, he brought up a good point when he said, despite the negative stuff you hear about companies like Blox and Skunk2, how many people use them vs how many people say bad stuff about them? And when you think about it, you're always going to hear something bad about a product when hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people use those products. Mostly because when you're selling that many products, it's going to be impossible to weed out the idiots who don't know what they're doing.

C.R.A.Y. 12-12-2014 09:13 AM

ive personally seen several blox b series cams snap in half. but i have seen them make good power besides rolling the dice with the snapping issue

NirVTEC 12-13-2014 04:44 AM

Wow. I thought it was just the Original Crowers that had breakage issues......
2 friends had Crower 3s break and destroy their engine. Of course after providing minimal gains that didn't even compare to Skunk2 Stage2 cams. And that was on ~12:1cr H23-VTECs

The real question is how did BC take care of the problem? What else was damaged?
When my friends had the Original Crowers break on them, they were offered 1 new cam, nothing else. When my friend had an issue with a Skunk2 Cam, they gave him a brand new pair and even gave him money towards machine work to correct some damage.

AZ_CIVIC 12-13-2014 09:26 AM

I think that part of the problems with cam failures is using the wrong parts or improper installation and not all the time the cams. I use Skunk2 Pro 1 cams and bought them used off of Aaron Teague who used them in his 1000whp EK.

I have now been using them for about 1.5 years. But I am also using the Skunk2 LMA's which are recommended when using Pro 1's along with their cam gears and having them degreed properly. I also am using the proper Ferrea Valve train which helps as well, usually the people who complain about issues are the ones who didn't degree the cams, use stock valve train parts, stock LMA's etc. I am sure here and there you may get a defective part but I would say a lot of the time it is just improper installation and use of the wrong parts.

NirVTEC 12-13-2014 09:54 AM

Very well said. Shit happens, but how the company takes care of it was always the key.

The Original Crower pretty much told my 2 friends to fuck off.

Dustin213 12-13-2014 10:39 AM

This is Dustin from BC and unfortunately we were never contacted on this one as we do stand behind our products. I did contact the customer and will be offering him support on any future build he chooses. From what he told this happened in 2010.
If anyone ever has any questions or any kind of issue please do not hesitate to contact me direct at 619 749 9018 ext 101 or my email is

BoostedJ 12-13-2014 09:58 PM

Anybody ever try the dd-tech cams?

NirVTEC 12-19-2014 05:53 AM

I can't really speak for the B series or others, but for the H series they look fantastic. Even on a stock H22 they carry past 8k which is quite the feat considering stock H22s fall on their face around 7200. If I decide to upgrade from my JUNs(previously Pro3s were the only option) I'd really have to consider DD-Tech. :) Good to see the H still getting attention. Thanks H2B guys!

BoostedJ 12-21-2014 09:53 AM

They seem to make good power, but the owner I don't know about. He seems to be full of shit half the time...

C.R.A.Y. 12-21-2014 11:20 AM

How so?

PhxKid92 12-21-2014 11:24 AM

That nirvtec guy told me my car didnt make 205 and that your dyno was way off lol

BoostedJ 12-21-2014 12:44 PM

I've seen him copy and paste posting's on ht from chris delgado(burgrermass) post off of the ectune fourm giving people the impression those were his own words.

Also see posts from time to time that through up red flags.

BoostedJ 12-21-2014 12:45 PM

What kind of dyno? 205 isn't that hard to do, whats the setup?

PhxKid92 12-21-2014 01:03 PM

Shut up clint aka NirVTEC and aka boostedj aka im not sure lulz but it was a h22a euro r completely stock besides k&n filter tuned on s300

C.R.A.Y. 12-21-2014 01:10 PM

So I guess that negates all the dyno graphs on the cams somehow

BoostedJ 12-21-2014 02:41 PM

You so far off it's not even funny. (well it is kinda actually)

Power seems to be on par, although I'm not too up on the h's. Always been a b series guy.

BoostedJ 12-21-2014 02:46 PM

No but when you're a fake, you're a fake. So any dyno is hard to beleave to be accurate. For all I know his cams are just rocket copies, but I don't have any first hand experience with them either.

DDTECH 12-21-2014 08:39 PM

Rocket, Copies. LOL I haven't heard that one in awhile. Rocket Uses A grinder called JB Cams, and stuff he never created. I use a completely different grinder and our profiles are actually designed by, Get this, US.

Friend sent me a message about this thread, thought i'd "drop by"

Nothing i've ever said was a lie, or fake, Infact, i share alot of common thoughts with people and i express as such. Chris D, is actually a good friend of mine through the tuning world..

We actually have more Dynos out of our b series stuff, then H series, but we're starting to post more and more test for all motors out, D/K/H/F/Bs

We actually spent time and our own money to test and provide the public with REAL, R/D.. on different motors.

I'm not active on here and dont plan to be. Dont like me because your cousin's brother's sister doesn't like me, thats cool. Dont like my cams, thats cool too, doesn't bother me one bit. But When you "believe" everything you hear or see from the sea of haters i've created with my success, then believe me, you aren't worth my time.

" Success Breeds Enemies" It stands true. DDTECHCAMS.com and we're on facebook, you can read from the hundreds of customers we have, their reviews.

If you have any other questions about anything and want info or truth from the horses mouth, You can contact me

C.R.A.Y. 12-21-2014 09:43 PM

:but::smileyR:

Koopa Troopa 12-22-2014 07:30 AM

Jesus, that's two cam companies that joined just because of this thread. Think we could get any others to join if we say their product sucks?

C.R.A.Y. 12-22-2014 07:37 AM

Technically no one said ddtech cams sucked. Kid just thought he knew something about Derek

BoostedJ 12-22-2014 07:51 AM

I can personnally never trust anything that come out of your mouth derick. (Not that you care anyway) just saying I would never consider spending my money with you after reading the many copy and paste posts. It one thing to spread i.fomation but to act like its your thoughts when they are not...come on now,. I bet if chris d swa this he would laugh his ass off...keep lieing some people have been around bullshitter all their life, and can see one a mile away.. end rant sorry...

Ps cray I'm not some kid, I'm most likely older then you. Do yiu have any real info to add to the topic to help derick out?

C.R.A.Y. 12-22-2014 09:25 AM

do you? show us these copy and pastes since youre so in the know

DDTECH 12-22-2014 06:44 PM

I didn't just "randomly" Join. I was made known of the thread. I do from time to time, google myself and my company. I look for new activity somewhere, where someone might be inquiring about us but can't find the correct information, or in this case. Believe everything they read on the internet.

Because they dont. We've tested against all the big name bar setters and have constantly out performed in both power/torque others. We've also made better powerbands, more useable.. also quieter VT noise as well as cutting wear down on camshafts.

No, You're definitely some kid who can't properly spell or punctuate for shit. My name is Derek.
Please, Contact Chris D. Right now and tell him your purpose in this situation and he will, will probably tell you, to piss off.

Nobody's Bullshitting anything. Some of "the" fastest cars around winning races run our camshafts. I dont need to bullshit Track proven results. When companies like Mission critical, Golden Eagle and more WANT to do business with you and CARRY your products or even recommend their customers to you, there's nothing to bullshit about.. infact I find it funny that you've spent this much time, Talking trash about me personally, and not my business.. its usually the other way around, and i can tell.. You're some internet "know it all"..
Dont worry brother.. its ok. Believe me.

He doesn't, Its all hearsay, Infact there are some post in some forums where i've copied shit that i've said months back in other discussion and just pasted em to save myself trouble of retyping or even rethinking. I dont pass anything off as my own, Its all learned..

When you've been tuning as long as I have, been in the business as long as I have.. you come to terms that there are always gonna be these kids, who talk shit for no reason.

Although I said my previous reply was my last me, This however, is. I felt like i needed to clear the air up a bit.

BoostedJ 12-22-2014 06:59 PM

I could try to google that shit but I really don't have time for that bs(I'd rather be working on my own car if I had any extra) and like I bookmark every bs post I see from him lol. I don't really care, I was just seeing if anyone had any result with them on here... I not really here for the drama, just facts.

BoostedJ 12-22-2014 07:07 PM

Lol your too funny. I don't really care about grammer when I'm trying to type from my shitty ass phone. It's all hear say, but yet you admit to copy amd pasting beacuse your too lazy. Okay there kiddo. You know what? I am a kid, a 32 year old kid who loves tinkering with cars. Been doing since I was a little tike, grew up around stock cars, and hot rods.
