My Ek hatch build
 

So I acquired this car about 3 years ago used it as a dd Its a 1996 Honda Civic dx hatchback. within the last year I finally started showing it love. It Went from having a stock d16 and blown shocks with mix match interior to having full body Coilovers, itr/Ctr interior, built and boosted d16 Etc. I'll start by posting a few pics so u guys can enjoy my build just as much as I do. :031: :bunny2:

When it was first getting painted. Started off like this. A bucket lol :whatever:

This weird blue color. Not a fan but better than how it looked before. Lol. Here's a couple pics after paint still missing a lot of stuff but don't worry

at first i thought those were inner tubes on the roof but the i realized they were seats :d3:

So last July I started showing it real love. Got everything to do a built motor and boost. Plus got interior pieces, wheels, full body's etc. here comes the fun

Me and my son working on the hatch summer of 2014. I also have no idea why the bay is a different color than car. That is still on my to do list.

so after awhile the civic was getting boring. so I started to clean it up a bit. put some new interior in. itr rear seats and black s2k seats. the s2k seats were not comfy at all so I ended up selling those and picked up some nrg itr recaro reps which were a lot better. not the best but better than hard leather seats imo. i also added a lot of goodies to the interior. I will add recent pics of interior shot with a better camera.

so the summer of 2015 comes in hotter than ever and I noticed the d16 that was in the car started to knock on start up very little. I didn't know what it was at first. but as summer went on it was clear it was a rod knock. so here comes the tear down. I picked up a d16z6 block and tore it down. sent it into larrys machine shop here in Tucson for hot tank and bore. picked up some 76mm vitara pistons and eagle h beam rods and acl bearings and built the new bottom end. here are some pics

Ok back to topic.! After the build here's a pic of the bay. Cleaned it up a little had a friend paint the valve cover. Added some avid motor mounts. Had Greg at go autoworks make me a custom catch to go around my pc680 in stock battery location. Installed a rywire harness with moates demon 2 Ecu. Installed bwr ram horn with 50 trim turbo. Got tuned by some s***y tuner that ignores customers and doesn't want to fix his own mistakes. Smh made 295hp 238 trq on 12 psi. Had to take off tune because of horrible drivability. Tune was only good on wot. The car Was good for awhile until I somehow bent a valve. So I rebuilt the head with bc valve springs and ferrea flat top 5000 series valves. And super tech valve seals. So last month I noticed my cars downpipe was smoking a lot. Couldn't figure out why so I did a compression test and it was fine also did a leak down and it was fine. So I took turbo off and sure enough the seals were gone. Spewing oil out of hot side. This time around I feel like I want more power so I decided to go bigger turbo and top mount manifold. So I got me a 1320 performance top mount turbo manifold and a gt3071r knockoff. If this one decides to go As well I 'll just invest in a legit garrett. But for now I'm sure it will be fine. I'm Hoping I can be in the 450-500 hp range. All I need is a downpipe. I'm Goanna see if I can get a custom one made sometime this month when I install the top mount and then I'll get a etune from derf tuned or speed factory. Leaning more toward derf tuned though. He seems to be the way to go for an e tune. But here's some pics for now. I'll try and post more later this month.

Why an etune? Never heard of nerf, how much does he charge? Why not just get local to tune it?

Just for now I'll be running a etune. On around 16 lbs then im going to upgrade a few things like clutch and maybe put lsd in the tranny then I'll get a dynotune for 20-25lbs. And derftuned is the man! he's from Florida. He tunes some of the fastest cars out there. Only 250$ and he will do multiple revisions until the tune is perfect. Basically a legit street tune. Look him up on instagram and YouTube.

So today I finally got around to installing wheel bearings in the rear. Man I'll tell u what. I never have had a problem like this before. the wheel bearing didn't want to come off I pried and pried and finally it came off but with my luck the race bearing was stuck to the shaft. I tried everything to get it off heating it up tried tapping it and no luck at all. What I finally did was pull out my harbor freight dremel and cut down the center till it almost hit the shaft. Then with flat tip bit I hit it in the line I cut and it cracked the race and it slid off. I was happier then a kid on Christmas lol. I thought the other side was going to be the same so I was prepared. But luckily wheel bearing slid right off whole. And was a easy replace. Here's a couple pics.
