Honda Challenge race start
this is me driving in ravis integra in Honda challenge. this is at wildhose pass east track with nasa az small bore race. this is my very first rookie race and it happened to be in the rain. so it gets a little nuts. finished 3rd of 5 cars in HC2 class. hope you guys enjoy. also I would like to mention this week was the only time I have driven ravis car so not only did I have to worry about my first race group experience I had to learn to drive a new car. Jake I was literally screaming the entire time. Was awesome to see you take that car and get a podium on your first outing. Can't wait to see what you can do with it for the rest of the year!

What'r the specs on that car?

Suspension is OMNI Race from 2004, however the front struts need to be serviced.
The Engine is a B16a2 with CTR Cams, and ITR Manifolds HOWEVER they are not tuned yet, and the car makes dismal power. These are the two issues that need to be addressed. Car weighs in around 2350 depending on who is driving loaded. Has a 4.9 FD and M-Factory LSD. It uses Type R Brakes. Small things here and there... |

Ravi why cut the doors but leave the door bar in? That's heavier then the part you cut off. Why switch back to n/a? Wasn't the car turbo not too long ago or rules for the class? |
Unless it has NASCAR bars, it cannot have the door bar removed. They were removed mainly for space.
It's been N/A for about 4 years. Honda challenge is a spec racing class which is what this car was re-purposed for after I stopped using it as a street car. Rules dictate engine preparation levels. |

I started a little over 2 years ago. Missed maybe 3 weekends since then. I love it so much. I thought I was fast when I was in hpde 2 and 3 but when ravi drove shotgun and gave me some tips something just clicked. Since then I have been pretty competitive with a lot of the people with comparable cars in my fit. Now this was a different experience with a new car that TOTALLY drives different.
I had a blast out there and now I could only get better with more experience. My times weren't too far off from the race leaders. |
How different is your Fit compared to the Integra?

Well the integra has an lsd and my fit does not. So corner exit in the fit is super hard. The fit is turbo ed so it has a bunch of torque. 160 hp 160 tq. The integra has maybe 130 hp and even less torque. The weight on my fit is a lot more front heavy so on the brakes the rear is really light and hard to control but I got used to it and used it to help get the car to rotate. My fit has power steering and I never have to shuffle my hands even in turn 1 at east the integra doesnt. Turn 1 and turn 4 I had to shuffle my hands.
And plus it has a net cage and harnesses also had to wear a hans device. Which was the first time. All that said imo the integra is a lot easier to drive but is way under powered. |

average registration is 259 - 309 for two days, membership is like 50 bucks a year. Pretty inexpensive considering what you get. |

The integra makes like 20whp less than his fit. Good ol boost :)
Once its tuned it should be about the same as his fit. |
