1992 Accord LX Sedan
The new daily.
Cons: Has 276k miles 5 spd Grinds 3rd and 4th if you shift to fast I shift it really slow into those gears or jump straight to 5th. Driver window goes down but comes off track Passenger rear window does not come down Mirror adjuster switch thingy gets stuck and the mirrors try to kill them selves Shift boot is torn Pedals are bare medal no covers Clear is coming off the roof paint is all gone Only ding is on driver fender and its pretty minimal Power steering leaks Pros: Passed emissions today with flying colors. I didn't do anything but change oil and filter as well as a transmission fluid change Compression check came out with 200psi across all 4 cylinders Looks like it has new lower ball joints and upper control arms Steering rack look new Tires have alot of life Doesn't pull to any sides Gray interior in great condition No engine noises/leaks No transmission leaks Has new cheap autolight spark plugs (came with) Only have a few pics of when I first got it Plans???? Still don't know Would like some oem Accord wheels Small suspension upgrades Better transmission Interior pic update Was wondering why my speakers kept cutting in and out Only real injuries to the out side |
Drop it, black house the headlights, add some 98 se accord wheel's ( they sort of look like hx wheels)....and a 94 97 front lip,and customize that oem grill and as far as the mirrors thing I've had 4 accords and none of them ever had functioning mirror's they always get stuck and just try to move but they get jammed

That's what I did to my last accord. But it had the 93 ex fat five type rims I kinda liked those. But the ones your talking about I liked to. I was trying to get some for my other accord but never happened.
94-97 oem lip? Didn't know about that one I do want to drop it but I want to get a decent setup. I saw. GC coilovers on CL. I think for this car a good strut coil over combo would be fine. I don't think it needs a full adjustable suspension Was thinking about throwing the type s muffler on it just because it's sitting there Some old lights I did When I first got it After a new front end With the headlights |
Never been a fan of that era Accord, for me it's DB > everything, lol
But at least you got a 5 speed. You going to crack that trams open and fix the issue or just get a different tranny? |
Is that a DA lip? The legend lip doesnt look bad either
Accord ex lip noob
Sorry yes 94 97 accord front lip......my last accord I had the si prelude rims...also the cd7 rear deck trunk spoiler looks great on these cars
Rather just get another and make sure its in good condition. Swap it over so I don't have alot of down time. It's my daily remember lol
just get another transmission these are notorious for bad 3rd gear syncros....
Fify

Find h23 trans...
Yay! Accord <3 yay! :blunt: :doobie: |
That's the plan but they seem pretty hard to find now.
Wow, times are a changin lol
There is some local person with full f23 swaps for under 400 hmmm |
That an upgrade?
Well yes and no, its newerr but would be pain in the butt to convert to obd2... but even if you just got it for the trans its a good deal.
Only if it was plug and play. H23 are hard to find nowadays
It's more of an economy engine rated at 150. 10 hp more than a f22a6.
I was really happy with how much torque my old a6 in my coupe had.I'd like to build an a6 motor. Nothing crazy. Seen a few mild builds put down about 180hp and 166 tq. That's plenty of torque to have fun |
Deng. To bad mine automatic.. BTW not sure if you this he might have a transmission for sale.
Sorry to hijack your thread but is it even worth upgrading to the h23 intake ,manifold?
Yes
Replace all bushings and mounts. Replace bushings in shifter maybe upgrade? Get some OEM prelude wheels(blades?), nice shocks with skunk2 springs. That was mine :p
Buy this one, use trans and whatever else you need, part out the rest?
I'm about to move and won't have the space for the cars I have now. I have a huge back yard note with an rv gate and that's where the extra cars have gone. New house is in a col-de-sack not alot of street parking. Has a 2car garage but the integra Is going in there alone. Two spots outside in drive way and one small street spot in front of the house. So I can only have 4 cars. Project, daily, wife's and oldest sons. His ideas the one that will be the street lol
Added some interior pics and some areas that need attention
Put the rsx-s muffler on the sedan looks good imo
Also bled my clutch, one of the causes the trans was shifting weird. And after closer inspection, I found that the previous owner replaced a section of the line with a brake line. Literally on oem hinda front rubber brake line. I also made my own diy short shifter adapter. Added some washers to sections to stiffen up the feel a bit aswell |
What happen to your old accord?
Junked it. But by than I met my wife and was about to get married so I bought my blazer and didn't have a Honda for a while. We lived in a town house so we didn't have alot of parking. It wasn't until we moved to a house that i bought another Honda.
So I started noticing my car temp hasn't been working correctly. First thought was sensor needed to be changed. Had one laying around. No difference. Decided to change thermostat...... There was no thermostat... While installing new thermostat I saw some leaks coming from some of the coolant lines going to tb,iacv and back of block. The water lines were completely hard and broke when I moved them. Changed all those out. Changed out the cheap autoloight spark plugs the car came with for some ngks.
I also ordered some new interior door handles because these are broken along with the door panels. I'll need to hit up a junk yard soon to get a few pieces |
So I went down to the jy to find some misc stuff. I came across an EX accord that was 5 speed. I decided to forget about the other stuff and scoop this up. I know the current transmission is on its way out and I'm nervous about that so I decided that since I had the cash to get it now and hold off on the other stuff.
It's not a ton better than the trans that I have now but it's another transmission none the less. I think only 3rd 4th and 5th are slightly shorter but not anything to brag about. |
Let's race!
First clutch I did was my accord, did it all myself and I don't remember the shifter cables at all!. Weird. I'm jelly
The water pump took a dump on me yesterday aswell so I'm trying to fix that now. It's a PITB to much stuff in the way just to change it out
After a couple days the water pump and IM gasket was all replaced. Reset base timing. I also cleaned the ports when the manifold was off. It was so badly caked with gooeyness and nastiness. Took a good while to do but in the end it was worth it.
I'm sure this water pump was the original. It's a Honda pump and I don't previous owner spent money on oem parts with all the issues the car had Also bought some new door handles, picked up a shift boot and shifter from the junk yard from a newer accord. Fits good |
Big shout out to AZHT. You saved me from having to sirens $100+ I didn't have.
I bought an alternator from autozone a few years back when I had my other accord. It had lifetime warranty. HT alternator just went out today. I couldn't remember my old phone number I had back than. Than I thought maybe I tried selling something back than. Lucky I did and Azht still had the number. Got the alternator swapped out and runs good |
I wanna see progress pics pretty pls
