Progress front swaybar ordered today...

Saucey 07-06-2011 04:07 PM

Cleaned the interior a bit. Still need to vacuum. I keep putting it off because it reminds me of how poor the carpets look.

1991crxfreak 07-07-2011 03:04 AM

put two of the motor mount inserts in tonight got done at 1 am i started at 1145 the car was hot.... (was driving it)....

Saucey 07-07-2011 02:36 PM

Drove 30 minutes to go get a gauge cluster that the ad said was in a 1990, got there and it was a 1988. Curse you gauge cluster gods! Curse you! I shall have a tachometer one day!

SlowEFSedan 07-07-2011 03:07 PM

88 threw 91 is the same excpet thire all interchangeable

Saucey 07-07-2011 03:10 PM

I was under the impression that 88-89 was plug and play with 88-89, and the same with 90-91. If you swapped in one from the different date, it involved re-wiring. I plugged the 88 in to mine while I was there and the Tachometer didn't work at all.

SlowEFSedan 07-07-2011 03:28 PM

no it should be string plug and play.

Saucey 07-07-2011 03:32 PM

What's the stringing?

SlowEFSedan 07-07-2011 03:35 PM

i ment stright plug and play i got my buddie a cluster for an 88 rex for his 91 hatch we pluged it in and it worked it might be the actavitor in ur dizzy thats bad thats what controls the rpm guage.

Saucey 07-07-2011 03:39 PM

Huh. A lot of places I've read said that it would be an issue. The search continues anyways.

2poor2tune 07-07-2011 03:55 PM

88-89 work with 88-89. Same with 90-91. You can't swap them.

SlowEFSedan 07-07-2011 03:58 PM

o idk iv never had to get a cluster had an si and an ex lol

Saucey 07-07-2011 07:38 PM

I got both of my windshield wipers to work. I don't know how long it will last though.

Took whatever plastic shift knob was on there and installed an s2000 knob it feels 10x better. Never thought a heavier knob would matter

xswingkidx 07-09-2011 10:51 AM

Finally washed the hatch. It was nasty from that storm!

ej1freAk 07-09-2011 06:49 PM

just order a dpfi to mpfi for a b16 from monotech.

xUNDEADxCIVICx 07-10-2011 02:54 AM

jacked her up, put her on stands, removed the front fenders, bumper, wheels, etc. and went to town cleaning and shining the girl up inside and out. found out my camber kit is pink for the first time since i bought her :P poor baby.

Tomorrow, I plan on removing the intake manifold and cleaning it inside out, and installing new/bigger fuel lines and a new IACV. also gonna "try" and remove the header to clean that out and polish it up, but gonna be hard to manage without removing the whole front clip. if anybody has any ideas on how to remove a dc sports header that is literally 2 inches away from the front support, send 'em my way. right now Ive come up with unbolting the 2 front motor mounts and just jacking up the motor; or as previously stated, removing the front core support. Either way it will be annoying.

Also, i need a 14' steelie to throw on my driver front so i can get rid of this temp spare, if anybody has any layin' around or knows where i can grab one for hopefully nothing, not expecting any miracles tho... if you CAN manage to help me out with this, thank you in advance :)

1991crxfreak 07-10-2011 10:19 AM

um if its a 2 piece header take it apart and take the bottom part out the bottom and top part out the top.... :)

bb4arson 07-10-2011 10:35 AM

your girl friend thought it mattered last night :biggrin:jk

post pics of it man .. not many people look into the s2k shirft knob,is it like the skunk2 knob ?

i hate driving in the summer with the skunk one it feels like your getting branded everytime you touch it .

xUNDEADxCIVICx 07-10-2011 03:27 PM

nope, its just a one piece, 4-1 DC Ceramic. Cant wait to get something better, but it does a decent job for now.

xUNDEADxCIVICx 07-10-2011 03:29 PM

thinking of cutting my wheel well for my camber kit to clear so i dont bounce down the road anymore :)

Bill Cosby 07-10-2011 04:05 PM

Don't be a puss just take the factory traction bar off. It's 6 bolts it might take you 30 mins but dropping that header out will be 100x easier. Just make sure you can get the car a solid 2ft off the ground in front

Bill Cosby 07-10-2011 04:08 PM

xUNDEADxCIVICx 07-10-2011 06:39 PM

yeah, this is the way i plan to do it.

civicscout420 07-10-2011 07:23 PM

relocated my battery to the trunk debating on the traction bar i got don't want to lose the front tranny mount

AZTEG95 07-10-2011 07:32 PM

Installed the battery.

Bill Cosby 07-10-2011 09:18 PM
