looking for a DYI Carpet dye
Does anyone or has anyone done this? mine is gray and i want it black.

RITE or something like that makes a dye black looks really nice too usually you can find this dye at walmart.... i've heard you just put it in a bucket with water... or something bigger for the carpet and let it soak the amoutnof time then wash off excess and dry flat....

me either... but i have a buddy who has done it to carpets and even seat coversand they look really good.... just never have the time or patience but i guess when you do it once if its not dark soak again till its your desired color

So I just did this last night and it worked great. My carpet was the dark blue grey and it came out totally black. I think what people are doing wrong is on the back of the dye it says for nylon witch our carpets are, it says to use a cup of vinegar not salt.

I did mine with rit dye about two months ago and it still looks good I think I put how I did it in my project thread
