After chickening out many times previously, yesterday I officially bought one of my "bucket list cars". Ever since I was a little kid, I remember lusting over 911's, and hoping one day I would get the chance to own one. I am not sure why, but those cars always spoke to me. Maybe it was because they were always a little rough around the edges, and raw.

While this car is a bit more refined, than 911's of years past, it is the end of an era. The last of the production 6mt's, and the Metzger engines. I have always loved the 930's and 993's but when it came to watercooled cars, I am extremely partial to the 997. The improved interior, and timeless round lights, really make the car for me. To me this is the 993 of our generation.

I stumbled on this car kind of at random. It wasn't posted for sale, I just happened to notice a post by the seller that he had a rare color combo. When I contacted him, I was pleasantly surprised to hear it was literally my unicorn color combo. White on 2 tone terracotta, with piano black trim and alcantara accents. It is nearly exactly how I would spec this car from the factory, if I didn't do a Paint to Sample blue. After I got pics, I knew this was the car.

My plans for the car are pretty simple. It already has:
Bilstein Pss10 coilovers
H&R Sway Bars
Cargraphic exhaust
997.2 Rear end conversion
Factory aero front lip and rear valance
Gt2 side skirts

I am going to swap the wheels, do intercoolers, tune, and likely call it a day there. The car doesn't need much else.

I actually sold the nsx not long after you saw it. I still have the isf but am going to be putting it up for sale probably this weekend.

I don't know. Haven't driven it yet lol. Waiting for transport to pick it up. I'll bring it out for sure. Want to start hitting up more meets.
Lol this is actually a car I want to keep a while. Hopefully. Only thing that might change that is if a kid comes along, because then I'm going to kill myself. Lol

The AE86 is about to get painted. Gonna wait until the Porsche comes back before I move on that.
The 986 is due for weekend of July 4th. We are getting it either way. If it's coming back on a trailer, I'm coming back with a lawsuit.
The Miata got racing stuff. It's stripped, roll bar, wheels, tires, brakes... Still need to put a new 1.8 in it eventually.

But really, I've taken a big brake from cars. I've recently developed some back pain, and it hurts to sit/drive. It's very depressing.

997s do signify an end to an era. I know you'll be thinking about that every time you row gears.

Na, I wont. I will lose my ass. I actually slightly overpaid for this car. This was a car I didn't want to compromise at all on. I wanted exactly what I wanted, and didn't want to settle. Didn't make sense to spend a few K less and not get what I wanted. I might never get a car like this again.

That is how I felt honestly. This isn't a car I wanna have regrets on. Typically I am open to exterior and interior colors, etc, but I really wanted white which is really rare, or a paint to sample blue(never find one).
Just waiting for it to get picked up. 5-7 days from then. Hopefully fucking soon!

Debating going 19 vs 20 on the wheels. Also having a hard time settling on a finish. Sooo many choices.

Just got an update. Car gets picked up tonight, and since the driver is part of a team it will be here Saturday or Sunday!

He also likes them deep down, fairly sure he ragged on Miatas before too yet loves them.

Yea, true. I don't know, I just usually err towards the smaller wheel. It has 20's now, so I will make a decision after I drive it a bit.
