i member someone saying that no negative camber = not slammed

how's this. this is 6 days of driving with no camber kit

i just put my camber kit in and it is getting aligned as we speak

but this is what it was doing before the camber kit :(

the before and after

YewllowDA 04-02-2007 08:45 AM

if your not slammed and have bad wear, then something bent in the suspension
well, mine is lowered 2 inches and got wear like that after driving it for 6 months.

Chinky 04-02-2007 08:47 AM

ummm... the car is slammed. probly had a 4 1/2'' to 5'' drop almost can tuck 14's with 60's on em

all my cars have been dumped, and thats not from camber wear thats from toe. i drove my DA on these mugens for about 6 months and barely began to wear the inside.

Chinky 04-02-2007 09:03 AM

what's the difference between the camber wear and the toe... ummm... wear?

sssmokin05si 04-02-2007 09:14 AM

That's what I'm talking about. I refuse to have a car that just roasts tires. My 2000 si was slammed, no camber wear. Xb was slammed, same result. There's no need to waste money on tires is how I feel, I guess I'm just sick of the headache that came with my xb being so low.

1 point 6 04-02-2007 09:17 AM

negative camber is due to the springs/suspension geometry being changed and which pushes the tires to tuck inside the fender well.

toe is due to the mechanic geometry of the suspension changing which makes the wheel point inward. think of someone walking pigeon toed

Chinky 04-02-2007 09:20 AM

so the alignment will fix all?

sssmokin05si 04-02-2007 09:29 AM

Put on your camber kit, go to Network Alignment, and call it a day.

Chinky 04-02-2007 09:31 AM

i put the camber kit on last night and dropped it off at brake masters this morning. apparently this dood does all the lowered cars in town... sooooo hopefully it'll be good.

Bodykit 04-02-2007 09:34 AM

It should, went through six tires in a month in a half cuz of this then bought a skunk2 camber kit and had it aligned and have been good now for two months :)

Bodykit 04-02-2007 09:37 AM

Exactly what i did dude was cool and gave a sick deal

Chinky 04-02-2007 09:37 AM

how much did u pay?

Peteex 04-02-2007 09:38 AM

Depends, if your bushing are worn, especially the rear trailing arm bushing, the best alignment in the world isn't going to solve the problem. I would get under the car and see if the main bushing is torn or not, that would be my first course of action.

If they are torn, DO NOT take it to the dealer, they will charge you to replace the WHOLE arm(~$270 each+labor), which I think is uneccesary, but unfortunately honda doesn't sell just the bushings. So keep that in mind if they need to be replaced, you will have to get aftermarket bushings and have someone press out the old ones and press in the new ones.

1 point 6 04-02-2007 09:38 AM

fo sho, network is dope.

Chinky 04-02-2007 09:39 AM

energy suspension ftw :)

thanks i'll have to check that out

Bodykit 04-02-2007 09:41 AM

If i remember it was 59 and i got all four tires aligned.

Chinky 04-02-2007 09:44 AM

nice...

i paid 25 :)

good shit. after i put in the camber kit. the car was all fucked up driving home :(

honduh_head 04-02-2007 09:45 AM

thats a good deal

Bodykit 04-02-2007 09:48 AM

Wow thats cheap for an alignment, the closest price i got close to what i paid was like 70

Chinky 04-02-2007 09:51 AM

70 is still good. it's a homie hook up tho. and it takes all day. cause he has to squeeze it in between cars

Neebs 04-02-2007 11:23 AM

I paid $40.00 for all four wheel alignment. Tires have been going on for almost two years now with a 3.0" drop.

ARMS 04-02-2007 11:27 AM

thank u shit i only charge $40 for a 4 wheel alignment

sssmokin05si 04-02-2007 11:32 AM

lol, that's weird. anyone i know dropped has gone through network. but hey if they get the job done, do it to it.

USDM.LOVE 04-02-2007 11:33 AM

Dang, that sucks

Chinky 04-02-2007 12:44 PM

:0 i live in tucson

Guerillah 04-02-2007 12:57 PM

my alignment was pretty whack after putting the coilovers on, I got it aligned to some more agressive than stock specs and handles like a dream now.

my toe was fucked, thrust angle, and camber.

EPthree04 04-02-2007 01:02 PM

alignment is a must after putting in coilovers. that looked like a toe problem. easy to fix front and rear. you should definately be okay after the alignment.

Chinky 04-02-2007 01:04 PM

**update**

got the car back from the alignment. rides nice. all fixed dood told me the toe was crazy on the car :0

teemfedx 04-02-2007 02:10 PM

you really wore through that much rubber in 6 days?

(they were brand new tires when you put them on?)
