Vinyl wrapping

Hey guys, going to be getting into vinyl wrapping come the new year. I've been tinting for years and just looking to expand my work with films and have some fun. Im going to be ordering a large roll of the carbon fiber lookalike vinyl and def be doing most of my interior pieces, hood, trunk etc.

Anyone have any cool ideas and color schemes to throw out there? I was thinkin a zebra print on a trunk lid would be legit. And anyone willing to pay for materials and let me practice on their rides?

Or besides the typical companies like 3m, who knows some good distributors?

I should be using google but im lazy..... what's the process of removing vinyl wrapping on a trunk for example?

bigballsmagerki 12-26-2011 09:58 PM

From what I've read, it just comes off. Knowing the Az heat, I bet it would leave a light residue, which some adhesive remover would get off. Thats all depending on how long you leave it on really though. But it's made to come off clean. I'm interested to put this to the test myself. I know It comes off clean after a month, past that, not sure.

Sound awsome.

bigballsmagerki 12-27-2011 09:36 AM

well it's not real carbon fiber, but compared side by side to real stuff some say it actually looks better. And i'm sure I could wrap an entire car. Its a big ass sticker

how much would ot cost to do a mr2? i love the flat black vinal from m3 but its expensive. i just need cheap stuff, my paint now looks like poop

Th3 Mugen 01-09-2012 06:14 PM

Anyone know any prices for this?

Just ordered a Sample Pack from 3m. I'm really interested in the Carbon Fiber, and Matte Colors. Can't wait for the samples to get here so i can check out their look and texture.

randizle 01-09-2012 06:37 PM

i went to a dealer the other day and they had a gtr with black m3 vinal and they said it was 5 grand to do that.

Th3 Mugen 01-09-2012 06:43 PM

I hope most of that is just labor charges. Do you happen to know how much just for the wrap?
If it's that much i think i'll go with the cheaper stuff too, lol.

bmhinc 01-09-2012 06:55 PM

I know of a couple places doing it and they charge 2k and up depending on vehicle size and vinyl. Saw an suv done in flat black and I think it was $5k.

MikeDC4 01-09-2012 07:03 PM

I just got paint I just want it to protect it

CAPTAIN CAAAAAAAVEMAN 01-09-2012 07:30 PM

im pretty sure the "faux fibre" 3m carbon is something like 3-5 dollars per square foot. and thats our cost so who knows what your going to get taxed... i know the plain white vinyl runs like 500 for a 150' roll...

kay9 01-12-2012 01:48 PM

Not a car but i recently had the exterior of my Dodge Ram wrapped w/ the exception of the mirrors, door jams, bed/rails. Price was $18xx including taxes and 10% holiday discount. It was done in Deer Valley.

taintschwacker 01-12-2012 01:59 PM

Just have it lex shielded.

taintschwacker 01-12-2012 02:00 PM

kerosinek 01-12-2012 02:23 PM
