For HPDE, a totally stock car with a quality brake pad and a Helmet that meets the minimum requirements is sufficient.

Additional information can be found on NASAaz.com

Here is a link to some pictures of the types of cars that came out for the first time at this event:

Note that they're not full blown race cars, just regular cars you'd see on the street or at the mall.

LS-S DA9 01-20-2015 10:58 PM

Is this something my stock 96 civic hatch could partake in? New oem brakes and stock gsr motor swap.. and what does something like this cost?

In all honesty ive been interested for a long time but ive never known how to get in and a lack of experience.

mghwater 01-20-2015 11:55 PM

Oh cool, I did this event for the first time (grey rsx) didn't know about the pic link. It was fun and easy to do; you don't need hp or expensive mods, just practice to be fast. A na miata my instructor drove let me do a ride along for a lap with was way faster than my sc car.. I was watching your silver Integra negotiate the hairpin trying to see when to brake and get it right, looked fast.

Yeah, that would be just fine for your first day.

For one day:
$169 entry fee (includes all your track time, loaner helmet*, class room instruction, and four sessions of approximately 20 minutes each on track with an instructor riding with you)...minus 25% off promo code knocks that down to $126
$45 membership fee (good for the calendar year)

Total of $171 for one day

Our next local event is March 7th and 8th down at Firebird/Wild Horse Pass. Registration should be open about 3 weeks before the event starts. Everyone out there was a 1st timer at one point. Last event we had like 20+ first time drivers.

BlueTeg 01-21-2015 12:04 AM

Loaner helmets are also available the day, on a first come first serve basis.

Mingus_Dew 01-21-2015 10:12 AM

Oh boy ima have to get into this but it will take some time

If my 30 year old Corolla can do it, anyone can!

LS-S DA9 01-21-2015 05:36 PM

one more question is this something i would take a car i care for body/paint wise or should i bring more of a car that can get beat up?

BlueTeg 01-21-2015 05:40 PM

One or two days in HPDE 1 probably won't be too bad. It's the guys that are out there for every event, every month, in the advanced groups driving a couple feet off of the car in front of them, whose bumpers start to show the wear and tear of the little pebbles that get flung up from the stickier race tires.
If you have car show winning quality paint, then bring your other car...or mask the front end of the nice car off with painter's tape. You can also try getting some clear bra film and just applying it half ass for the weekend and removing it after the event.

Sales@RC's Garage 01-21-2015 06:00 PM

nothing wrong with a car bra too!

Chuck Chainz 01-21-2015 07:42 PM

Battle scars bro, battle scars!

LS-S DA9 01-21-2015 09:58 PM

Not on the midori lol. Something.may be in the works well see.

Chuck Chainz 01-21-2015 10:08 PM

I'm looking to do this by March or April. :drive:

BlueTeg 01-21-2015 10:23 PM

Buy a beater front bumper from Certifit for few bucks and swap it on and off for track days

dudeinpinkfit 01-22-2015 07:38 PM

Do it!!!! You will have a blast.

Chuck Chainz 01-22-2015 08:17 PM

Definitely, my car needs nothing, it's pretty solid, bring on the rock chips!

dudeinpinkfit 01-22-2015 08:29 PM

Ya my car used to be a show car and 1 day said screw it.... so now I do this and have tons of rock chips.... and windshield replacements. Good thing for 0 deductible glass.

Fix.it.again.Tony 01-23-2015 10:02 AM

I saw your rsx and thought it was you!

4dr_ed3 01-23-2015 10:21 AM
