take headlights apart??

ok so i want to paint the plastic chrome on the inside of my headlights black

what is the best way to get the headlights apart without damaging them?

you should be able to remove the lense from the houing with a dremel im not 100 percent sure its the best way but s long as you have good glue to get them back together it should work just fine!

put them in the oven at like 250 for 10 min and pull them out and pull the clips off and pull the lense apart from the light

easy

I did this to my jdm headlights. Pre-heat the oven @ to like 260 let the over heat up before puting the headlights in. 10mins tops

:caution: take and plastic pieces and bulbs out before puttin in oven.

And take a flat head screw driver and easly pry the housing away the lense and wear gloves.

To put back to together just stick it back in the oven for like 20mins just to get the glue melty and reassemble.

Make sure to use high temp blk paint and use a scotch brit pad to prep the surface for paint.

Ill try and find my thread i did. I might do this to my new 98 front.

yeah make sure to take it out nicely so you can use the stock sealer when you throw it back together

I used my matco heat gun and some fusion glue to glue the lens and seal it back up worked perfect

Or stick back in the oven and reheat it to melt the glue and slip them back together.

Using a heat gun wont get give even heat all the way around.
