1996 accord lx h22a4 swap
I have a 1996 accord sedan with 5speed tranny. I have a complete h22a4 (2001 prelude SH) that I want to sawp. I know manny people think "stay away from h22a41!" but I have also heard peolpe remove the ATTS from block and use it with no problem and keeping the f22 5speed. Any pointers? I hope im posting in the right place for this thread. Thanks again for any comments negative or positive.

The f22 trans has longer gears and will make the h22 under perform...
Here is what I have so far from research.
-f22 alt, ps pump, AC compressor -custom plate for half shaft -custom or hasport DS mount -f22 wire harness -p13 or p28 ecu |
It performs better with shorter gears? Why is that?
It would be best to save up 1000 more for a LSD equipped h22 trans...
Shorter gears mean faster acceleration. You'll have better gas mileage but the gearing wont be best for the powerbamd of h22.
Who said the f22 tranny will decrease performance ? That's the set up I have in my Accord & I don't see any performance loss .....
I said...Did you also start with a h22 trans for comparison?
Any pointers? what year accord do you have 96+97? OBD2 H22?
Ive HAD a 96 accord converter to obd1 with h22 lsd trans.
If you want the best acceleration out of the box, then it would be h22 trans. If your more concerned with gas mileage, f22 trans would be your choice. |
Thanks for the input I will post pics and updates soon!
