first wrecked USDM CTR
|
Only a matter of time, in this case it happened pretty quick.
|
Bet he feels real dumb. Good thing he had insurance
|
and hopefully GAP :type:
|
this.. especially if he was one to spend 50-60k on it

Jesus, are people really spending that much on civic? Bllllaaaaaaaah
|
Not all stealerships are marking them up. There was a grey one on Honda-tech being sold with no mark ups. I think it was in a Ohio dealership. From the estimated production there is no reason to pay mark up. Msrp is $33900 plus destination . 10k more than the si . A lot for a civic ? Yes. It is a whole lot of civic tho.
|
Still gets its ass kicked by its segment competitors. A full second slower 0-60 than the RS.....
|
With less HP/TQ and FWD a full second doesn't sound bad to me.
|
Ahhhh yes, the same excuse I read everywhere. As if AWD drivetrain loss isn't more than FWD. And the "it has less HP" isn't necessarily true when stock CTR's are dynoing 301 to the wheels right off the showroom floor. That pretty much puts it right at RS power.
So yes, a full second is a SHIT TON. |
The car wasn't made for quarter mile times.
|
|
Motec system exhaust, with Naz
|
That's the other excuse I see tossed out. I'm guessing you think the Ring record was set in a fully interiored R with Nav too?
The car is in a weird area. It's gonna get bitch slapped by gutted hatches with K's at the track...and get molested trying to pull on anyone in the streets. I like it, I just think Honda came out with it a few years too late. |
It should matter in a performance based car that has direct competition in it's target segment though. I know people want to dismiss it, but this isn't being pitched as a normal "passenger car".
0-60 in 5.8 is laughable. The new Accord V6 does it in 5.7. If you guys can't tell, I'm a little upset at Honda lol Had this come out 4-5 years ago I would've picked one up. Now? Nah....way too many other options out. |
Nothing from Honda is special any more. That die with the nsx and maybe the s2000. All civic and Integras are slow and normal cars. Including the type r. They're expecting people to buy a car that's slower to their competitors just on the base that they had a following. Fuck that lol.
$33k lol |
Geo metro
|
That and lets be real, the new CTR is ugly. Looks like an angry attack anime robot. I dislike it - the Focus RS looks better, and IMO the better car for something that is a street/track car.
And seriously, 0-60 in 5.8 for 34K is laughable. My 4400LB SHO does it in 5.2 lol. |
ugly as hell!! thank you Paul! BUT how fast does your car do on the track? civic never was a quarter car from factory and (don't mark my words) never will be

Oh the CTR is faster, no doubt.
But for what the CTR heritage is, and what it costs - I would be disappointed with what I got. IMO the new civic hatch "sport" with the center exit exhaust looks better than the CTR....lol |
yes as previously stated by another member Honda is far from what they use to be at least in the ctr/itr area this is a ridiculous abomination compared to the ctr of the 90s. and after 17 years they only squeezed out 120 more hp?

I personally like the RS looks more than the CTR, but please give me a break on that 0-60 shit... there is more to a car than a straight line sprint to 60mph. Lol
If it can reach 88mph with tire fire then I'm impressed! Are they late to the turbo/"R" party? Yeah... but I'd like to see what the results are with are flash. |
once this baby hits 88mph. youre going to see some serious shit. :autored:
|
Yeah, let's dismiss 0-60 from a performance car's standards.....and ya know, the avg speeds you'll be doing while driving around town.
Do we dismiss performance numbers of other makes, or just ones we're fans of? |
$34k civic no grassy ass
|
Retarded argument, but I'll play along.
With some basic mods: suspension, decent tires and once Hondata programs a flash for the ECU for a ton more midrange and modest lift on peak hp I think it will make a really great track car capable of running with just about anything you'd find at a local track day. Certainly enough to run faster times than a Kswapped 90's chassis Honda. With that being said, the styling on these cars is horrendous. And I don't know who in their right minds is paying the 5-figure dealer markups on these? Most of the posts I saw on FB today with guys that worked at the dealerships locally here said the CTRs they got delivered today were sold to out of state buyers; mainly California. I can't remember which dealership it was, but one of them had a $20k markup! 50 grand for a civic?? LOLOLOLOL |
I dont blame the dealers, i blame the silly boys who pay the cost to be da boss lol
Hype R anything is historically overpriced, so it makes sense to me |
|
They have one at bell Honda for a low price of $67k L OH FUCKING L
|
fuck bell Honda. worst Honda dealer I've been to and high prices on everything
