What parts to use for a low compression build?
 

i bought a car which i ended up getting fucked on pretty quick, i have blown head gasket due to the internals to the engine not being upgraded. im having an outside of shop mechanic do the work because i cant afford the shop prices. i need to know (open to all suggestions) what parts to put in my d16y8 to rebuild it for the low compression to handle the turbo

Hopefully your "outside" mechanic has all the tools to do the machine work needed?

If not you will be repeated this issue often.

If you can't afford to do it right, then don't do it - it will be much cheaper that way.

he is a certified mechanic. i have another question, the head isnt warped and is only the head gasket that needs to be replaced, if i take the turbo out and get the gasket replaced the car should be fine to drive right? sorry i dont know alot about fixing cars im trying to go to school for it, thanks.

can i get some suggestions on what parts to use and how much they would cost? i have already been suggested the eagle rods from a few people but nothing farther than that, i'm trying to weigh out the cost and i think im just going to take out the turbo and save up for the job in the future (in college this cars draining my accnt)

I'm sorry if this is going to sound rude, however you probably should take your car to a shop that knows what they are doing. Sitting here and asking for a parts list is pretty stupid.
On the off chance we can help you we will need more information, keep this in mind for your next question. For starters start with the year what engine, what's been done to the car and or engine. Also a list of problems and check engine light codes if any.
If this mechanic you speak of knows what he is doing then chances are he knows what parts you need to buy.
I'm sorry you got "screwed" on this car. Yet again you should of had someone check it before you bought it. Keep that in mind for your next purchase.

Buy another in good condition single cam, sell the turbo crap, and the just rock the stock engine.

i know whats wrong with it the guy i bought it from sold it to me with the blown head gasket but he never upgraded the internals, so he has the high compression motor with the high compression turbo. im stayin positive and im gonna rebuild

i didnt blow it it was already blown cars quick tho even tho its fucked up tires break upon shift of 2nd
