Anyone watching this on ABC?

I watched the old series forever ago and loved it. ABC has done the series well, and the show is excellent.

Nothing better than 250LB robots of spinning death spewing fire and their rivals across the ring.

I used to compete in robotics - and I wish there were more local competitions so I could build the Marmobot and try my luck.

IMO Battlebots is more entertaining than boxing and MMA - which is funny since Kenny Florian is one of the co-hosts of this show.

If you haven't been watching -- they are 3 episodes in and have had some pretty dramatic matches.

I watched last week i think. The one where an old vet read the new series' rules which said nothing about entanglement, he had a present on his bot with a net inside. The competitors were a lil mad... a whee bit lol. hopefully i remember to keep watching. Seems inevitable that any show i like, gets cancled.

They are doing a season 2!

i just torrented the 3 episodes out, and i'm halfway through the second episode, this is pure gold. Thanks for the reminder.

I remember watching it back in the day. Was enthralled to hear it was back. Apparently my two year old niece loves and was laughing while watching it recently.

the old show is what got me into joining the highschool robotics team. It wasn't like the show, but it was still fun.

The new shows seem as fun as the old ones.

My brother leads the North High School robotics team, I took my daughter to the last competition out in Chandler, awesome stuff these kids build.

I like that the premise of the show has not been ruined and they actually make robots that fuck shit up

I don't mind it. The mini-bots are not usually a factor. More of a novelty I think.

I knew RadioActive was going to get messed up by Tombstone. RadioActive's builders are from the UK - so they built a combat robot exactly how I would expect them to, considering their home country's population is about as weapon-neutered as possible.

I was also surprised that Witch Doctor won, but I don't think it will fair well against Tombstone (barring any technical failures - I expect Tombstone or Bronco to win the tournament.)

Since the final matches have happened I :

Was surprised that WitchDoctor did so well against Tombstone. I thought it would be a easy match for Tombstone but it wasn't.

I knew GhostRaptor's time was limited. It was pure luck he made it as far as he did.

I was surprised/not surprised that Tombstone was defeated in the last round. By someone who had beat him once before.

Should set up for some awesome grudge matching next season.

I would have never guessed ABC would be showing Battlebots and that it has been as popular as it has.

Chomp drove down the carpet @ the Espys. ESPN had a feature on the BattleBots.

This show needs to continue. Rumor has it that next season will be open to competitors whereas the the last season they handpicked to ensure the quality.
