Atomic-Orange-Turbo-Sloth 12-15-2011 05:20 PM

nelsmar 12-19-2011 07:22 AM

Thattssss where that came from! The paintshop said they had to sand it down to bare metal to remove those damned spots.

Gotta over the fender bolder holder for mine. Bra for long trips and another fitted car cover. couldn't pass up the deal for $80 for both and they are basically new.

Need to put my 700/650 spring rates on my KW clubsports this weekend and roll the front fenders this weekend if my fender roller comes in from eastwood on time. Fitting my AutoX 255 Hankook RS3s and 17x9s.

Hey, I have those shoes.

Kinetic 01-26-2012 07:59 PM

I missed mine..........

berny2435 01-30-2012 01:19 PM

yesterday:
- Rolled front fenders myself - mainly just tabs- came out really well with no chips or cracks.
- tested front suspension travel and rim/255 tire fit without springs installed - not as much travel as I thought but 255s are fiting well
- Installed my 700lb springs to the front KW clubsports (were 550).

Still need to install new 650lbs springs to the rear and test suspension travel and then of course align car.

Then I'll be ready for the next AutoX this weekend with my 255 square setup.

nelsmar 02-06-2012 07:22 AM

Got it painted.... again. lol maybe it will come out right this time! :P Rio = sucks to blend apparently.

berny2435 02-06-2012 07:59 AM

over last week I finished up my suspension stuff and then gave it a whirl at the track on Saturday. felt good but was a bit pushy. Some minor front swaybar adjustments and the car will be perfectly neutral!! Lovin it already though!

fasts2k 02-06-2012 12:11 PM

Tell me about it. I decided to just wrap mine.

nelsmar 02-06-2012 12:14 PM

Yeah its annoying... they painted areas they were not supposed to paint, somehow forgot they were blending half way... shop talked to the painter and is re-doing it all for free. + to the shop for being nice, painting extras for free, and even re-doing my headlights for free... i just miss my car... between that & the shipping problems with shine auto I've been without a car for 6 out of the last 8 weeks... -.-

But i have faith the shop will get the blend right... And because of the mistake someone made they had to paint over half the car to "blend" my bumper. At least the paint damage on my door & hood will now be fixed... lol so no complaints in the end!

bryantiscool 02-06-2012 04:53 PM

just got the S back from paint yesterday. feels good without that damn dent anymore :)

Rufus 02-06-2012 05:00 PM

Want to trade mine for an SC300/400

blahrus 02-09-2012 10:48 AM

Bought one and drove it around! but put coil overs on my roommates 03 SI! what suspension are you all rocking?

nelsmar 02-09-2012 11:08 AM

Stock and lovin it :P

Finally got mine back from the paint shop... bit better now, haven't had time to overlook it. Damn Rio is hard as fuuuu to match, wish i had the money for a full respray (we were only 3 panels away from a respray already).

bryantiscool 02-09-2012 09:36 PM

Buddy Club N+

Rio is hard to match.
my buddy's OEM front lip doesnt even match his car. lol
:\

killer_instinctz 02-10-2012 05:45 PM

talking about me?^ lol

i got off the phone with my buddys shop earlier today, and they are a REALLY good shop, and they tried over and over for 2 weeks to get my paint to match on my front bumper but they still couldnt match it perfectly :( i guess i'll see tomorrow

i'll just respray the whole car one day....

SDSK 03-05-2012 02:38 AM

nice... it was kinda confusing at first but i see what you did. should have done the same thing when i had mine... had...

berny2435 03-05-2012 09:56 AM

I tried to get all the pcs in the shot so I didn't have to explain much. Easy mod to do. The couplers cost me like $8 from Home Depot. A tube of Automotive Goop for sealing up the connections. Dremel tool with roto zip bit to cut some of the stuff and a regular old school hack saw as well. AFE filter is $85 shipped from Amazon.com.

Basically $100/CAI/icebox. The pipe size could be increased to 2.5" but I couldn't find that size at Home Depot. 3" was too big I think.

The Carbon fiber plate is the AUT knockoff of the BYS plate so that was $140. So basically you are looking at a $240 setup that I believe will function just as well as most of the others out there if not better.

I left the OEM radiator shrowd in place b/c I think removing that is not a good idea and it's actually not legal for SCCA STR classing. There are enough slits in that shroud to let air into the intake duct anyways.

The motor sounds better but not too loud. especially not AEM loud.

The next logical steps are adding heat reflective material and also to replace the OEM pipe with a smooth pipe but that would increase motor noise. I'm working on sourcing something cheaper than the HPS slicone tube. It will likely have a 90deg bend in it though to increase the tube length to gain some low end torque. I'll be trying to pc something together for under $100 for that tube but it might be a while before I get that done. I need some other things first.

SDSK 03-05-2012 10:25 AM

why not try a thicker material to replace the oem intake pipe and reduce motor noise? that might work if something exsist that won't heat up to bad. maybe wrap it with some heat reflective materail as well.

as for the radiator shrowd i didn't know it wasn't legal to to remove but then again when i had mine and was autorcossing my motor was untouched except for a K&N filter. made it easier for cali emissions.

berny2435 03-05-2012 11:39 AM

I could just purchase the HPS intake tube but I think it cost too much for what it is. I have plenty of kevlar to wrap an aluminum tube in so that will likely help noise if I go that route which should only run me $60 I think. I might wrap the stock tube in alluminum tape but that's about it. Not going to waste my kevlar on the stock tube.

Lots of things are illegal once you read into it. rules are rules though and people have been protested for just cutting a hole into that shroud I think.

Atomic-Orange-Turbo-Sloth 03-05-2012 05:52 PM

nice CF parts Berny
